Equipment for continuous metering and mixing of unsaturated polyester resin with mineral fillers. In production since 2021.
Unsaturated polyester is the most widely used binder system in cast stone. Raw material is available in almost every market, which makes it the least expensive of the four systems both to start with and to run.
The line is built from current-generation components. Motors and geared motors by Siemens (Germany). A high-speed low-pressure mixing head of our own design, with a horizontal traverse unit that makes component calibration and servicing straightforward.
The metering screw and working cylinder are made from alloy steel with a bimetal-tungsten coating. A ceramic tip is available as an option and is particularly resistant to abrasive wear when running quartz fillers.
Feeders for coarse and fine filler carry an active dynamic bridge-breaking device that prevents the material sticking or hanging up in the screw zone. Every hopper has a volumetric level sensor tied into the control system and its own replaceable filter cartridge, so dust is not vented into the workshop.
The main mixing screw is fitted with a vacuum unit that degasses the mix as it is cast. The line can be supplied with automatic loading from floor level to the upper hoppers: a fully sealed system built on aeromechanical conveyor technology.
Automatic metering of dry-fraction fillers in a continuous production process. Electrically driven feeders, each with a closed hopper above it and a sensor governing refilling from an external loading device. Hoppers sit above the casting section; every powder hopper has an agitator against arching and hang-up.
All liquid components are delivered by dedicated pumps and valves. When the machine stops, they switch to recirculation automatically. Delivery and metering are governed by automatic process control.
A recirculation-type head for pre-mixing and intensive mixing of the liquid components. It carries a set of nozzles of different diameters with chemically resistant pneumatic valves that regulate recirculation and casting pressure. Recirculation and casting phases follow the stored programme; chamber and mixer are sized to the required output.
Mixer in special alloy steel producing low transverse load. The balanced cantilever mixing screw runs in a ball bearing support to ease discharge of the mix.
Continuous degassing of the casting mix during production. Without it, air entrained during mixing stays in the casting.
Colour unit with its own tank and high-accuracy metering. In-line resin heating brings the resin to temperature as it passes the heater, with automatic thermostatting at inlet and outlet.
The cleaning circuit comprises a 20 l pressurised stainless steel vessel for cleaning fluid, a manual valve for flushing the mixing head if power is lost, and programmable switching between cleaning fluid and dry air. The compressed air system governs valve operation and solvent delivery and reacts automatically to a pressure drop below the set point.
A separate distribution cabinet carrying the whole control and monitoring system plus a frequency converter for each metered component. The cabinet connects to the casting line by a 5 m control cable; the metering group connects to the mixing head by flexible hoses.
Solid Surface and cast marble: kitchen worktops, sinks and washbasins, bathtubs, stone slabs, façade and floor panels, marble, onyx and travertine imitations.
The base configuration already covers a broad range of applications. Unit layout, output and degree of automation follow the customer's technical specification: there is no fixed model range and no price list, and the quotation is prepared once the specification is agreed.
We also build lines for two-component acrylic (PMMA) and epoxy (EP) resins with mineral fillers and vacuum degassing. The machine design is shared across all four binder systems; what changes is the configuration for the binder.
